Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee West Bengal has once again cast doubt on the preparedness and motives of central investigative agencies. Speaking at a meeting with Durga Puja Committees held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Mamata Banerjee voiced her concerns about the timing of the activity by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following Abhishek Banerjee's return. She highlighted that the CBI and ED have seemingly sprung into action right after his arrival, raising eyebrows about their intentions.
Chief Minister Banerjee said in her address. She went on to express skepticism about the lack of documentation accompanying the central agencies' recent actions, suggesting that their activities might be aimed at entrapment rather than genuine investigative efforts.
This isn't the first time Chief Minister Banerjee has expressed concerns about central agencies and their actions. She has previously accused them of being politically motivated and targeting opposition leaders. These sentiments have contributed to an ongoing tension between the central government and the state government in West Bengal.
